BBQ Sea Girt, NJ

Last Friday night we had a great BBQ night.

This week I was on a fun river cruise up the Hudson River.  A spot I've always loved is the view of the George Washington Bridge span from afar and underneath.  A really neat historical building is the Little Red Lighthouse (Jeffrey's Hook Light).  It has been there since 1921 in this form.
Both are amazing structures.

This week I got to see the backstage life of a rock tour.  My friend Marc and his band Sex Rat were in town touring with Sublime, Matisyahu & Dirty Heads.  It was great to have full run of the Jones Beach Theatre to shoot.  It's an amazing venue literally on the water as you'll see.
The main shot is from a VIP viewing area above the band on stage.  It's one of the netted areas visible from the wide shots of the place.  Have a good weekend!

Times Square Billboard in Action

There is a neat new interactive display which has a live camera showing the street.  Every few minutes they simulate a photograph of the street and hold up the photo which shows us out there looking up.  Very clever, very fun.  Check it out if you're there sometime.  I'm in the shot shooting in a blue shirt.

Washington Square Park Wanderings

While in the park I noticed a woman composing on her smartphone while referencing a book which relates to her typing perhaps????

And then a pigeon almost flew into me.

This week while hanging out with the family for a reunion weekend I had some fun taking pictures with my cousin's daughter Sara.  She always starts out very shy as some of you may have experienced with your own nieces nephews etc.  But after an hour or so around the family and my incessant photographing she opens up and enjoys the camera.  Here are a few shots as I was trying to capture the angry Lego guys she ducked in and then mimicked me after!

What Will Apple Do?

Tomorrow there is a press conference which will address the issues Apple is having with their new iPhone and the antennae signal drop problems.  I'm curious about what they will say - but in the mean time the device is a great lifestyle device.  Last night I caught a nice shot of Fazia enjoying her new phone.

What's with all the Silly Bands

Is anyone else wondering how someone is making millions of dollars on shaped rubber bands??  Brilliant.

This week I saw two interesting items in my travels.  The first were obviously some great fireworks.  But what made the ones in NYC interesting is that I watched them from the pool deck of the Holiday Inn on 57th St.  This hotel is one of the only outdoor pools in NYC.  It's not too expensive for the day at $60 considering others are around $250 in other so-called swankier spots.
The other image is from a part of Brooklyn where clearly they are worried about vandalism and theft.  As most of you probably know a mezuzah is put up on doorways in jewish households.  I just thought the way this one had to be protected in an almost safe-like coffin panel was an indicator of the area.....I'll let you interpret as you may.  Have a great weekend.

July 4th Fireworks Fun

It's a hot one here and the fireworks were really popping at night.  The beaches were crowded and the water was refreshing for all ages!

Tiki Bar View iPhone Style

Sunset at Pt Pleasant from the tiki bar.
This week I while taking a walk in the neighborhood I came across a few interesting sites.  I am usually drawn to color and sometimes it's the yellow from the sun setting or the yellow of a piece of clothing.  Then again there is always the parrot showing off in the park.
I think they sort of speak for themselves and show you that you can find it all in NYC.

A Quick Look at the 1972 Hasselblad 500C/M

Just a few snaps of the awesome and durable 500C/M.
