Travel to Las Vegas WPPI - Part One

The annual WPPI show is not only a great event where photographers get together to learn and share, but we also get to enjoy Las Vegas and the surrounding area.  Everyone knows what Vegas is like, though the real gem of the area is the desert and amazing natural scenery just outside the city limits.
We got there in the evening and stayed at the Cosmopolitan hotel.  A great place with wonderful views of the strip.  We decided we wanted to see a few things and make this an adventure, not just work.

Waking up to this view made the mornings much easier than looking at the side of a building.

We headed back out to the airport and picked up a great rental car and then began the journey!  First stop was much anticipated, but turned out to be the most disappointing.  The pawn shop - which is where the hit show Pawn Stars is filmed.  It is a great show I love - but going there was sorta lame since it is mostly a T shirt and tourist spot - so it is better left to your imagination than a visit.

Next we did the tour at Rick's Restorations - another popular History Channel show.  They don't really allow photos on the short but informative tour - so not much to show off.  They were very nice and it is a great family business success story.

Our next stop was the Neon Graveyard Museum.  This is a terrific place with a nice tour of all the local neon lost to various destructions of old buildings and businesses.

A quick stop after the museum to IN and OUT Burger and we were back to our amazing view!
A night pf partying and gambling is always a good time.

These are some of the built in filtration options on the X100T and other Fujifilm cameras.  You can see the whole set of options on an earlier post.
While out for the day I set the X100T up on a Delkin Fat Gecko suction cup and ball head with the interval timer to capture the sunset and evening images of the Bellagio fountains and skyline.  The effort paid off!

The next day we were out to the desert - stay tuned for that in Las Vegas Post #2!
